Dermaplaning

What is Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is a safe and highly effective exfoliation treatment that will leave the complexion smooth, soft and instantly brighter. It involves the use of a surgical blade but the treatment is safe and painless. The rough, dulling surface skin cells are removed and the fine vellus hair is banished leaving the skin soft fresh and glowing.

Treatment time is around 30 minutes.

What are the benefits?

Over time we all build up dead skin cells on our faces which result in clogged up pores and dull, tired skin. Dermaplaning helps skincare products penetrate the skin and creates a flawless base for make up to glide on smoothly. Besides that, it helps minimize acne scarring and uneven skin tone. Dermaplaning exfoliates to a much deeper level yet doesn’t require any harsh abrasives.

What will happen at my appointment?

Dermaplaning is an exfoliation method that uses a surgical scalpel blade to gently scrape the surface layer off the skin. The surface layer usually has dead skin cells, dirt and other particles preventing you from enjoying glowing skin. Once the treatment is completed the skin is immediately smoother, brighter and fuzz free. Despite popular belief the fine fuzzy hair does not grow back thicker.

HydraFacial

What is the HydraFacial?

An advanced facial using patented vortex technology. It will deeply cleanse your skin and produce a glowing complexion. The HydraFacial delivers botanical ingredients and antioxidants to the skin. It helps to remove dead skin cells and toxins from the skin and provide lasting hydration.

What are the benefits?

As with most skin issues, over time pollution, sun and stress can degrade the skin causing clogged pores and accelerating the ageing process leaving us looking dull and tired. The HydraFacial delivers powerful antioxidants that counteract these damages leaving you looking and feeling great.

What will happen at my appointment?

The HydraFacial Core Treatment consists of a five-stage process. It detoxifies the skin, removes dead skin cells, extracts any debris and provides long lasting hydration and essential nutrient support to protect and rebuilds collagen levels. It uses advanced, patented vortex technology to deeply cleanse the skin and effectively deliver botanical ingredients containing nutrients. The HydraFacial’s super serums are made with these nourishing ingredients that create an instantly gratifying glow, that cleanse, extract and hydrate the skin making you look and feel so much healthier.

After one treatment, you’ll notice a huge improvement, but we’d recommend a HydraFacial every 4 weeks to receive the benefits and create a long-lasting difference to your skin’s appearance.

How much is this treatment?

This treatment is £99 for one and £495 for a course of 6.

Laser Hair removal

How long do I need to wait following sun exposure?

Because we also recommend a course of 6 to 8 treatments at 4 to 6 weekly intervals you would need to avoid direct sun exposure during this time for treatment. It’s best to plan your course accordingly and start as soon as possible where little interruptions will take place for the quickest and most effective laser hair removal, but obviously holidays can’t be helped and we take this into account. If any of you have any planned getaways, we can still test patch with a tan, but if you’ve been actively sunbathing, we would need to wait a minimum of 4 weeks to give the melanin in your skin chance to subside.

What kind of results can be expected?

We work with a class 4 medical laser rather than IPL, we find it much more effective in targeting different hair types. Depending on the type of hair, we aim to reduce hair growth by 80 to 100%. The thicker and darker the hair growth, the better the results.

How much does laser hair removal cost?

We can carry out laser hair removal on any area of the body. Our most popular package is the 12 month unlimited hair removal for £2000. Most people take full advantage of this incredible deal. Other people have small areas such as bikini line or facial hair treated. These prices are listed here. With gents taking more pride in male grooming now, we also treat many male clients for areas such as cheekbones and eyebrows. Prices start from £50. When compared to waxing prices and even shaving systems, laser hair removal is by far the most cost effective and hassle-free method of hair removal, which is why we have some special offers on at the moment.

Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Now that the sun is out and holidays, weddings and the races are in full swing, here at Advanced Skin Lounge we are extremely busy ironing out the wrinkles in preparation for the special events.

Anti-wrinkle treatments, most commonly known as Botox injections have become one of the most popular non-surgical treatments over the last decade. They are used to reduce muscle activity and diminish wrinkles.

Botox works by blocking the chemical messages sent to the nerves that cause the muscles to contract, therefore the muscles remain in the resting state and the tissues appear smooth and line free.

The treatment takes up to 14 days for the full effect to be seen and lasts 3 to 4 months.  A review appointment is generally booked after 2 weeks so the injector can see how the treatment is working and any fine adjustments can be made.

Because Botox is a prescription only medicine a full consultation is needed prior to treatment where in depth medical history is taken to assess suitability for treatment.
